Alderte & Company was founded in 1964 by
Mr. Andrew J. Alderete Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Andrew J. Alderete’s CPA Career:
Mr. Alderete was the Founder of Alderete & Company Certified Public Accountants. He spent 43 years in private practice as a self-employed CPA, offering one stop service in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with additional services Texas, Arizona, South Dakota, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio and Oklahoma. Mr. Alderete was one of the first Korean Veteran Hispanic CPAs in the State of New Mexico.
Mr. Alderete, CPA, was one of the founding members of the American Association of Spanish Speaking CPAs in 1972. In 1986, he envisioned bringing new opportunities to the Latino community in New Mexico, and became the founder of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Association of Hispanic CPA, now known as the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA). ALPFA is the most prominent organization dedicated to creating Latino and other minority business leaders.
Mr. Alderete's hard work and dedication to the Accounting Profession resulted in him earning the 786th CPA Licence awarded in the State of New Mexico in 1964. This accomplishment made him the first Korean Veteran Hispanic CPA in the State of New Mexico.
Mr. Alderete was born in Bosque, New Mexico, and he passed away on May 27, 2007. After his death, George W. Bush, Former President of the United States, sent to Mrs. Alderete a certificate honoring the memory of Mr. Andrew J. Alderete CPA, for his military service.
He started his military career at age of 17 in Tokyo Japan. He was a Korean Veteran, retired from US Nave Reserve in 1984. . His volunteer service as an active member in many professional, civic and philanthropic organizations was recognized on May 14, 2007 when he was awarded by the Commanding General United States Volunteers for his outstanding meritorious service.
In October of 2013, the New Mexico ALPFA Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in honor of Mr. Alderete’s legacy. This scholarship is granted to New Mexico ALPFA students, who are committed to making a difference by serving their local community and peers.
Mrs. Graciela Alderete maintains Alderete & Company, LLC, in honor of her late husband. In addition to her 15 years of experience as a CPA auditing assistant, she has over 20 years of tax-preparation experience and holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration from CNM. In addition, she established her English proficiency at CELAC - the University New Mexico.
